• Business challenge - Four key events needed to be addressed

1. The recent 2007 flooding highlighted a major business exposure for a large organisation in the finance sector having their primary and DR systems located on the same flood plane

1. A major client contract was due to expire and a new agreement with revised SLA's was required to retain this business

1. RRD had outsourced an element of z business and wanted to return these applications in-house and consolidate with their existing z workload

1. Their System  P estate had witnessed rapid expansion and with a technology refresh wanted to consolidate as much as possible                

• How we created a solution that addressed that business challenge

1. Several Pre-sales and customer workshops were held to design the right solution which included Software, Storage, backup, virtualisation and Network solutions

• Any issues or challenges and how we addressed them

Logistical challenges in receiving the total solution into two UK datacentres and testing them before onward shipment of the DR components to Europe, this was addressed by accepting the total DR image into our own Datacentre here in the UK
